(New Stetven Historian and Diviner)
Although the Brevish nobility's love affair with the past goes into and out of fashion on a nigh daily basis, the one thing that any good nobleman (or woman) needs is information. Richard Sokolov concerns himself with both. Operating out of a small wooden mansion on the outskirts of New Stetven (although the term library would perhaps be more descriptive), he provides noble and peasant alike with his dry wit, extensive wisdom, and magical talent for augury.
The gruff librarian is known for his almost precognitive ability to anticipate those around him, his passion for books, and a family of adopted orphans living in his mansion. This last element is a matter of some speculation amongst the general population of New Stetven. He is known to be discerning about which children he takes in -- but no clear pattern of selection has become apparent to anyone. He has, at times, invited children directly off of the street, and at other times sent agents to distant lands to collect them (something he also does with books).
Further rumors abound, as no one in New Stetven can remember a time when he wasn't the gruff old man in the mansion on the city's outskirts. Other than his adopted orphans, the only family Sokolov is known to have is a sister, Irena. However, she has not been seen for several years now.
Unbeknownst to the general populace (but knownst to his orphan family), Sokolov is actually a silver dragon who's lived... well, no one knows for sure. His orphanage consists of children meticulously selected for two characteristics -- each has a metalic dragon as an ancestor and would almost certainly not have survived to adulthood without his assistance. In addition to bringing these children together, he also teaches them about their heritage. With careful exercise, many are able to draw out their draconic heritage and manifest assorted draconic traits -- acute senses, improved physical traits, or even magical powers.
